Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology (DUET), Gazipur, has announced its admission process for the 2023-24 academic year. Students applying for the first-year BSc Engineering and Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) programs will need to pass an Admission Test. The online application process will begin on September 29, as stated in DUET’s official notification.
According to the notification, the list of eligible candidates for the Admission exam will be published on October 31 at 4 p.m. Admit cards will be available for download from October 31 to November 14.
The DUET admission test is scheduled to take place on November 17 and 18 (tentative dates), and the list of selected candidates will be released on November 24. Detailed information regarding the admission process will be available on the university’s website.
DUET Admission 2024: Exam Fees and Timetable
For this academic year, the application fee for the admission test is set at BDT 1,450. Payment can be made through mobile banking platforms such as Nagad, Rocket, Bkash, or Surjo Pay.
The exam will be held over two days, starting on November 17 with Civil Engineering and Architecture tests in the morning shift. The morning session will include multiple-choice questions (MCQ) from 10:00 AM to 10:25 AM, followed by the first paper from 10:25 AM to 11:15 AM.
The second paper is from 11:15 AM to 12:05 PM. In the afternoon, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Food Engineering exams will take place following a similar schedule.
On November 18, the morning session will cover Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. The afternoon session will feature tests for Computer Science & Engineering and Textile Engineering.

Exam Structure and Marks Distribution
According to the DUET Admission Circular 2024, the exam will be divided into two sections: MCQs and written tests. The first paper will cover Chemistry (40 marks), Physics (40 marks), Mathematics (40 marks), and English (30 marks). The second paper will focus on technical subjects (150 marks), bringing the total to 300 marks.
To pass the exam, candidates must score at least 40% overall. However, they must secure at least 20% in English in the first paper, and at least 35% in both the first and second papers. Admission will be based on merit, drawn from those who pass the exam.

- Textile Engineering: 120 seats

- Industrial and Production Engineering: 30 seats
- Chemical Engineering: 20 seats
- Food Engineering: 20 seats
- Materials and Metallurgical Engineering: 30 seats
