Fuel Pass App Launched at 7 Dhaka Filling Stations

Motorcycle riders in Dhaka can now buy petrol and octane using a digital system at seven filling stations from Sunday, April 12. The system uses a QR code-based mobile app called “Fuel Pass,” introduced by the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation.

The service started earlier on a trial basis at two stations. With five more stations added, the total now stands at seven. From today, riders must use the app to purchase fuel at these locations.

Officials from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division said the system aims to improve transparency in fuel distribution. It is also expected to reduce long queues, irregular supply, and artificial shortages.

The Fuel Pass system is linked to the central database of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority. This allows authorities to manage and monitor fuel allocation for users.

To use the service, customers need to download the “Fuel Pass” app from the Google Play Store and complete registration. Users without smartphones can register through a website and use a printed QR code at stations.

The seven stations currently offering the service are located in Tejgaon, Asadgate, Mohakhali, Shahbagh, Nikunja, and Kallyanpur areas of Dhaka.

Officials say the system will be expanded further if the initial rollout proves effective.
