Google’s US Play Store will soon allow gambling applications

Google Play will begin accepting real-money betting apps and advertisements on July 1.

Google revealed Thursday that Android users in the United States would soon have access to betting and gambling apps via the Play Store. As of July 1, some states will legalize online casino games, sports betting, lotteries, and daily fantasy sports applications.

On Google’s support page, you can find a comprehensive list of the types of gambling apps that are permitted in – state.

“We now allow real-money gambling apps, real-money gambling advertisements, and daily fantasy sports apps that meet certain criteria,” Google’s support page notes.

To be eligible, app developers must complete a gambling application form, adhere to applicable state and country laws, and hold a valid gambling license in each state or country where the app will be used. These applications must be rated for use by adults only and provide information about responsible gambling.

Additionally, apps must ensure that they do not allow minors to access them, and they cannot be a paid app on Google Play or use Google Play in-app billing.

Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Norway, Romania, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom all have gambling and betting apps such as W88.
