The admission test for Jagannath University’s ‘B’ Unit was held today, Friday (30 January), in Dhaka and regional centres. The one-hour exam ran from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
A total of 79,807 candidates applied for 785 seats in the ‘B’ Unit, which covers the Faculty of Arts and Law. This means 102 candidates are competing for each seat, according to university officials.
Christine Richardson, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Jagannath University, confirmed the figures while speaking to the media.
The examination was conducted at 13 centres, including Jagannath University itself. Other centres in Dhaka included the University of Dhaka, K. L. Jubilee High School and College, Banglabazar Government Girls’ High School, Dhaka Collegiate School, Wills Little Flower School and College, Dhaka Metropolitan Women’s College, Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, Dhaka Residential Model College, and Siddheshwari Girls’ College.
Outside Dhaka, the test was held at Rajshahi University, Khulna University, and Comilla University.
The total marks for the test are 100. Of these, 72 marks are allocated for multiple-choice questions, while 18 marks are based on SSC and HSC results. The question paper includes English, Bangla, and General Knowledge.
Christine Richardson said students who could not download their admit cards due to technical problems were allowed to sit for the exam. After checking the candidate lists, their answer scripts will be kept separately for verification.
The university will announce the next steps, including result-related information, after the examination process is completed.
