It is estimated that 600,000 people worldwide are diagnosed with liver cancer each year. And according to the World Health Organization, 3,139 people die of liver cancer in Bangladesh every year. Although they have been diagnosed with liver cancer, they do not have any symptoms in the early stages.
Common symptoms include lower abdominal pain, pain in the right side of the abdomen, enlarged liver, bloating, vomiting, back pain, fever, and weight loss.
Hepatitis-B virus is mainly blamed for liver cancer in Bangladesh.
In addition, hepatitis C, fatty liver, liver cirrhosis also increases the risk of liver cancer. Professor Dr. Mamun al-Mahtab Sapnil believes that hepatitis-B vaccine, obesity control, regular exercise, balanced diet, avoidance of alcohol and smoking can prevent liver cancer.
In many cases, cancer of other parts of the body also affects the liver. Which is called secondary liver cancer. Cancer first affects the gallbladder, then spreads to the liver. In such cases, treatment becomes very difficult.
Experts say that the chances of a cure depend on the exact stage of the liver cancer.
