Legends League Cricket (LLC) started its journey this year. LLC’s first competition was held in January this year, in Muscat. The second season of this league organized with former cricketers will be held from September 17 to October 8 in six cities in India.
Former Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza will play in this Legends League. He was picked by India Capitals.
Mashrafe had already received an offer to play in the Legends Cricket League. Mashrafe also spoke about it with Prothom Alo after receiving the offer last month. Then he said, ‘I got an offer to play. But nothing has been said yet. Whether to play or not, I have not decided yet.
Legends League is usually played by former cricketers. Although Mashrafe last played for the national cricket team in 2020, he has not officially retired yet.
The 22-day league will be organized in Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Jodhpur, Cuttack and Rajkot. There are 15 total matches in this competition of the four-team franchise league. Mascot LLC’s first season had three teams. Mohammad Kaif led Seva Bharat Maharajas, Darren Sammy captained the Giants and Misbah-ul-Haq led the Lions.
The Giants won the first season by beating the Lions by 25 runs in the final.
