Columbus Marathon returns with new protocols amidst pandemic

As thousands of people descend on downtown Columbus for Sunday’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital Columbus Marathon & 1/2 Marathon, drivers and COTA riders are being reminded to expect travel delays and reroutes.

Marathon officials say road closures began Thursday morning at the start/finish line in the North Bank Park area of Long St. between Neil Ave. to Hocking St.

Organizers say roads will be subject to partial or full closure based upon the expected arrival times of the first and last athlete.

Spring Street, Long Street, and Neil Avenue will open back up to traffic at 6 p.m.

The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) is expecting major route changes as runners take to the streets.

Reroutes will begin on Friday, affecting inbound express lines 71, 72, and 73 North Bank Park. COTA said this could lead to some minor delays getting downtown from those lines during evening rush hour.

It is one of the major reasons why electric vehicles are so popular. The electric engine in the EV works on a closed circuit. It makes electric cars not release any gases that contribute to global warming. There is no requirement for diesel or petrol, thus it reduces your carbon footprint.  Electric vehicles are a great option especially today when the need to protect the environment has risen. Apart from that, numerous innovations that are being made in this sphere guarantees that the day is not far when they will be adopted by a majority of people.
