The newcomer Namibia continues to glimpse the loss of the Scots

Namibia is showing a glimpse when it comes to playing in the T20 World Cup for the first time. After winning two matches in the first round, they also gave the opponent the bitterness of defeat in the first match of the Super Twelve. Namibia lost to Scotland by 4 wickets on Wednesday (October 28). The Erasmus-led team surpassed the 110-run target set by the Scots with 5 balls and 4 wickets in hand.

This is Namibia’s third win in the first round of this year’s World Cup. After losing the first match against Sri Lanka, they lost the other two matches to the Netherlands and Ireland.

JJ Smith’s 32, Greg Williams’ 23, Michael Van’s 18 and David Wise’s 18 helped Namibia reach the target at Abu Dhabi’s Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Michael Liask took 2 wickets for 12 runs for Scotland. Bradley, Sharif, Chris and Watt took one wicket each.

Earlier, Scotland lost 6 wickets and scored 109 runs. The Scots lost 3 wickets in four balls of the first over of the innings. Opener George Munsey was bowled in the first ball of the innings by pacer Robin Trumpelman. Column McLeod was out in the third ball. Scotland captain Richie Birington became lbw in the fourth ball. The Scots then lost 6 wickets in a row.

Scotland-Namibia are the two weakest teams in Group-2. However, from the past statistics of the two teams, it can be said that there was no way to keep an eye on this match. The bowlers of the African country proved that with their great bowling on the field.

Scotland got off to a great start by losing to Bangladesh, then with great victories against Oman and Papua New Guinea, Scotland made it to the main stage of the T20 World Cup as group champions. However, in the first match of the Super Twelve, the Scots flew against the Afghans. Kyle Quetzer’s team lost by a big margin of 130 runs. This time the devastated Scotland was also seen against Namibia.

On the other hand, Namibia has to face a difficult reality in its T20 World Cup debut. In the first match of the group stage, they lost in their first match against Sri Lanka. This is the first time the African country has come to play in the World Cup. But then the only success story is theirs. After losing to the Netherlands in the second match, they secured the Super Twelve by beating the strong Ireland in the last match of the group stage.

Namibian players depend a lot on the big stage like the World Cup. Before the match against Scotland, they dropped out of practice and toured their favorite places.
