The 44th BCS Viva exam and the 46th BCS written exam were postponed multiple times during the Quota Reform Movement and after Sheikh Hasina’s resignation. The Public Service Commission (PSC) is now preparing to reschedule these exams, potentially in October.
Multiple reliable sources within the PSC informed to the Media that the primary reason for the delay was the allegations of question leaks in 30 exams, including the BCS. The investigation report is expected next week, and the PSC is planning to resume the exams. If the report confirms any leaks, the concerned exams will be canceled.
A senior PSC official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that exam dates cannot be announced until the investigation report is received. However, other preparatory activities, such as restructuring the viva board, and creating and moderating question papers, have been initiated. A roadmap is being considered to ensure all tasks proceed efficiently.
When asked about the possible timeline for the 44th and 46th BCS exams if no evidence of question leaks is found, the official said the exams could be held in October. However, if evidence of leaks is found, the affected exams will be canceled.

The 44th BCS notification mentioned that 1,710 officers would be recruited across various cadres, including 250 for administration, 50 for police, 10 for foreign affairs, 14 for Ansar, and more.
For the 46th BCS, 10,638 candidates have passed the preliminary exam and will participate in the written exam. This BCS aims to recruit 3,140 officers, with the highest number of positions in the health cadre, including 1,682 assistant surgeons and 16 assistant dental surgeons. The education cadre will follow, with 520 positions to be filled.
