Boiling water attack on Ganesh Idol just a few hours before Ganesh Chaturthi, near Kadam Mubarak Madrasa, Cheragi Pahar. The Devotees rushed up the madrasa stairs to catch the attackers but were trapped inside. Two were tied up and tortured for nearly an hour.
As per the source, the incident took place yesterday, Friday (September 6) from around 10:30 PM to 11 PM near Kadam Mubarak Madrasa, Cheragi Pahar, Chattogram.
It is said that the Devotees from the Battery Goli Dhopa Para Puja Celebration Committee were transporting idols of Lord Ganesha from the workshop of artisan Uttam Pal. As they reached Momin Road near Kadam Mubarak Madrasa in Jamal Khan, unknown assailants poured boiling water from above.
Later, devotees rushed up the Madrasa stairs to catch the attackers but they were trapped inside. Two were tied up and tortured for nearly an hour. One of the injured has been admitted to the emergency department of Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

The Jamal Khan and Momin Road areas have been thrown into turmoil following the incident. Hindu devotees surrounded Kadam Mubarak Madrasa in protest, and the military arrived at the scene.
