GSA Admission 2025 to be conduct on Lottery System

The GSA Admission 2025 for Secondary Schools for the upcoming academic year 2025 will be held through the previous method, the lottery system. Like the past few years, there will be no admission test this year.

The Education Ministry confirmed this in a meeting on Thursday, September 26. This comes amidst concerns from parents and students about potential changes to the admission procedure following the transition to an interim government, which has undertaken significant reforms in the education system after scrapping the previous administration’s controversial policies.

The meeting was presided over by K M Kabirul Islam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry’s Secondary and Higher Education Division (Secondary Section-1). The detailed directives regarding the GSA Admission 2025 are expected to be issued next week.

As per the decision, all government secondary schools, along with private secondary schools located in metropolitan areas and district headquarters, will continue to admit students from grades one to nine through a lottery system for the 2025 academic year. This decision applies to schools under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE).

Traditionally, the admission process begins at the end of each year, with classes starting in January. Initially, the lottery system was limited to first-grade admissions. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all classes adopted the lottery system starting from the 2021 academic year, and this method has been in place ever since.
