HSC Exam 2024 Update News: All postponed exams cancelled

All postponed HSC (Higher Secondary Certificate) exams have been canceled. How the final results will be determined is still undecided and will be announced later. Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, the President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee and Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board, confirmed this on Tuesday, August 20, around 4:45 PM.

Professor Sarkar explained that the decision to cancel the postponed exams was made after considering the situation. He added that a plan for how the results will be calculated will be shared soon.

Earlier in the day, HSC students entered the Secretariat, demanding the cancellation of the remaining exams. They argued that their final grades should be based on the exams they have already taken. The students mentioned that many of them were injured during protests, and their studies were affected.

In the afternoon, a group of students met with Sheikh Abdur Rashid, the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Education. The meeting was led by Hasnat Abdullah, the coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement. During the meeting, many other students protested outside, insisting that the remaining exams should not take place.

Earlier that morning, an emergency meeting was held at the Secretariat, led by Education Advisor Wahid Uddin Mahmood. It was initially decided to postpone the exams by two more weeks, starting from September 11, and to reduce the number of questions by half. However, after the protests, the officials decided to cancel the postponed exams altogether.
