HSC Result 2024 to be published this month, Likely between October 15-17

HSC Result 2024 under the Higher Secondary Education Board Bangladesh is set to be published this month. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has proposed three possible dates; October 15, 16, or 17 for the announcement of the HSC and equivalent results.

The results of this year’s Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent exams are set to be released around mid-October. The Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee has proposed three possible dates—October 15, 16, or 17—for the announcement of the HSC and equivalent results. However, the exact date has not been confirmed yet.

In response to a question posed by The Daily Campus on Thursday night (October 3), Education Advisor Professor Dr. Wahiduddin Mahmud stated that it is still too early to comment on when the HSC results will be published.

Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Chairman of the Dhaka Education Board and President of the Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee, confirmed to The Daily Campus that a proposal for releasing the results on October 15, 16, or 17 has been submitted. However, the final date remains undecided.

Due to political unrest, including the ongoing movement demanding government resignation and changes in the public service quota system, it was not possible to complete all the scheduled HSC exams. Of the 13 subjects, only seven exams were conducted. Following student demands, the remaining exams were canceled, and the Ministry of Education decided to use subject mapping to release the final results.

This year’s HSC exams began on June 30 and proceeded smoothly until July 16. However, in the wake of the quota reform protests, exams scheduled for July 18, 21, 23, and 25 were postponed. On August 5, amid widespread protests led by student groups, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government was forced to step down.

The dates for the remaining exams were revised multiple times, with the latest scheduled date set for August 11. Despite the new schedule, students demanded the cancellation of the postponed exams. On August 20, during a meeting at the Secretariat, it was decided to resume the exams on September 11 in a condensed format. However, angry students protested, barricading senior officials, including the Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Education, and forcing the administration to cancel the remaining exams.

According to the Ministry of Education, the results of the subjects that were held will be prepared based on full evaluation. For the subjects that were canceled, the results will be mapped using the students’ performance in their SSC and equivalent exams.

This year, a total of 1,450,790 students participated in the HSC exams under nine general education boards, technical boards, and the madrasa board.
