The summer vacation at educational institutions under the Ministry of Education Board Bangladesh might be shortened this year. As per this, the vacation could be reduced by one week.
Educational institutions may reopen this week following the holiday of Eid-ul-Adha. This information has been declared through the Ministry of Education.
According to the academic calendar, the holiday for Eid-ul-Adha and the summer vacation began on June 13 this year and this is scheduled to continue until July 2, 2024.
The reason behind the plan to shorten the Holiday is that the number of instructional days throughout the year has decreased, said the Ministry of Education. In addition, reinstating the Saturday holiday will further reduce the number of working days. Therefore, the summer vacation might be reduced by one week.
According to sources from the Ministry of Education, the decision regarding this matter is expected to be made next Wednesday or Thursday. However, the decision will be announced after the official holiday for Eid-ul-Adha.
