Finally, the 46th BCS Written Exam date has been announced officially. The Public Service Commission (PSC) has made a policy decision to hold the written exam for the 46th BCS in November after the exam was postponed due to the quota reform movement. Initially, the commission had aimed to conduct the exam in October, but the preparation required has pushed the date further.
On Monday, September 30, the PSC held a key meeting where they discussed scheduling the exam in November, allowing enough time for related tasks such as moderation of exam questions and determining exam centers. A senior official at the meeting mentioned that these preparations could take at least a month and a half, making a November exam feasible.
The official also indicated that if everything proceeds smoothly, the written exam could be held anytime in the second half of November. He assured that once a date is confirmed, candidates will be informed promptly.
Earlier, on August 25, the PSC had announced the postponement of the 46th BCS written exams, which were originally scheduled to take place from August 28 to September 9. This postponement was attributed to unavoidable circumstances, with a promise that new dates would be communicated later.
The 46th BCS circular was published on November 30, 2023. The exam offers a total of 3,140 cadre positions, including 489 in the general cadre and 2,074 in the technical (professional) cadre.

Additionally, 520 positions are available in general education, and 57 in technical education, and the highest number of recruits will be in the health cadre, with 1,682 assistant surgeons and 16 assistant dental surgeons to be hired.
