A massive fire that breaks out today (March 24, 2024) in the largest wholesale clothing market of the country, Gausia Market in Rupganj. 8 Units of Fire Service and Civil Defense reached the spot and brought the fire under control after two hours.
As per the report, the fire breaks out at Rupganj Gausia market in Golakandail area of Dhaka-Sylhet highway. The incident took place on Sunday (March 24) at around 2:45 Am. About 165 shops have been burnt in this incident. There were various shops including raw materials, medicine, and hardware.
Eyewitnesses and local watchmen said to Media that they saw a fire in a shop in the raw market part of Gausia Market at around 2:45 AM. Later, the fire spread in the various shops of the market.
As per fire service officials, 8 units of Fire Service and Civil Defense of 5 stations including Kanchan, Araihajar, Demra and Purbachal are rushed the spot to control the fire. After two hours of try we brought the fire under control.
