National University shut classes until next update for Heatwave

The Bangladesh National University (NU) announced to shut classes until the next update due to the heatwave. After the Primary and High Schools, the National University authority officially announced the information today (April 20) through a press release.

The university authority said in the notice that, classes of all colleges under National University will remain closed due to heatwave across the country. The authority decided to close the classes until the next update. Further decisions will be taken considering the situation and informed through the official website.

Meanwhile, the Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has increased the holiday for the same reason. The authority decided to close the classes for the next 7 days till April 27, 2024. The Education Board has issued a notice in this regard today at 11 AM on the official website.

In addition, the Primary Education Board has shut the schools for the next 7 days consideration of the health and safety of students. It is said on the notice that all government Primary Schools, Child Welfare Trusts, and learning centers will be closed from April 21 to April 27.

Note that, Educational Institutes of the country including Primary and High Schools, and Colleges are supposed to reopen on April 21 after the Eid Ul Fitr Holiday according to the Holiday Calendar. However, the date has been changed due to the heatwave in the country.
