The moon of the holy month of Ramadan has been sighted. Saudi Arabia has confirmed the moon sighting information to the media. The country is going to keep the fast from Monday, March 11, 2024. As some countries including Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan keep fast after one day of Saudi Arabia, so they will keep fast on March 12, 2024.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Islamic Foundation has released the Calendar for Ramadan 2024. As per them, the holy month of Ramadan is expected to begin on Tuesday, March 12, but the date is subject to moon sighting. As Saudi Arabia saw the moon today and they are going to keep fast on Monday, so Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and more countries will keep fast on the next day on Tuesday

So, Bangladeshi can collect the Sehri, and Iftar timings which are published by the Islamic Foundation of the country.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Muslim Religious people from all over the world will keep fast from early morning to evening. They eat Sehri as per the Ramadan timings to start the fast. On the other hand, Muslims all over the world will break the fast after sunset. To start and end the fast at the right time, the Ramadan Calendar is required for everyone.

Rules for Ramadan

Some rules need to be followed during Ramadan. They are:

  • During the month of Ramadan, Muslims let go of worldly pleasures and fast with their family and friends.
  • Five daily prayers are observed every day from dawn tonight.
  • Fasting is obligatory for adult Muslims, except those who are chronically ill, pregnant, breastfeeding, menstruating, or diabetic.
  • Muslims refrain from consuming food, or liquid, smoking, and being intimate with their spouses during Ramadan.
  • They also do not indulge in any kind of false speech, insulting, cursing, lying, or fighting, which may negate the reward of fasting.
  • Zakat or charity is obligatory in Islam. During Ramadan, the poor are helped. Zakat is a fixed percentage of the person’s savings that is donated. Sadaqah is a voluntary charity in goes above and beyond what is required from the obligation of zakat.
