HSC Routine 2026 Published: Exams to Begin on July 2

The HSC Routine 2026 has been released in Bangladesh. According to the published notice, the written HSC exams will start on July 2 and continue until August 8. Practical exams will begin after that and must be completed by August 15.

The routine was published on Wednesday, April 22, on the website of the Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board.

Under the schedule, the first exam day will begin with the Bangla First Paper, a compulsory subject. The final written exam on August 8 will be Finance, Banking, and Insurance, Second Paper.

The board said exams will be held in two shifts. Morning exams will begin at 10:00am and continue until 1:00pm. Afternoon exams will run from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.

Candidates must take their seats in the exam hall at least 30 minutes before the start time.

The board also issued detailed instructions on question format and timing. For most subjects, students will first sit the multiple-choice section, followed by the creative or written section.

For papers carrying 30 marks in MCQ format, students will get 30 minutes. The 70-mark creative section will last 2 hours and 30 minutes.

For subjects with practical components, the MCQ part will carry 25 marks and last 25 minutes. The written section for those papers will carry 50 marks and continue for 2 hours and 35 minutes.

There will be no break between the MCQ and written sections. The exam will continue without interruption until the time stated on the question paper.

For morning sessions, blank answer scripts and OMR sheets will be distributed at 9:30am. MCQ question papers will be given at 10:00am. OMR sheets will be collected at 10:30am, and then the creative question papers will be handed out.

For 25-mark MCQ papers in the morning shift, answer sheets will be collected at 10:25am.

For afternoon sessions, answer scripts and OMR sheets will be distributed at 1:30pm. MCQ question papers will be given at 2:00pm. OMR sheets will be collected at 2:30pm before the written section starts.

For 25-mark MCQ papers in the second shift, collection time will be 2:25pm.

The board said all exams must follow the exact timing printed on the question paper. This means exam centres will need to maintain strict schedules across both shifts.

Students have also been told to collect their admit cards from their respective institution heads at least seven days before the exams begin.

The release of the HSC Routine 2026 is important for students and families, as it allows time for final preparation, travel planning and admit card collection before the national examination starts in July.
