Fire breaks out at AWR-18 building today March 23

A fire broke out at the AWR-18 building at Gulshan-1 Circle in Dhaka on Saturday (March 23) afternoon. The incident took place on the ninth floor of the 18-storey AWR Tower in Gulshan-1 today at 4:20 pm.

As per the report, 3 units of Fire Service and Civil Defence of Tejgaon Fire Station reached the spot at 4:35 PM and working to control the fire.

Rafi Al Faruq, the Duty officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defense headquarters said to the media that, the fire occurred at the outdoor portion of an AC (Air conditioner) on the AWR Tower in Gulshan-1.

The first unit of Fire Service reached the spot at around 4:30 PM. Then, two units join to douse the fire. On the other hand, three more units are on the way, said the fire service officer.

He also added that the fire might occurred at the outdoor portion of an AC. People are worried after seeing the smoke in the building. So far, no casualties have been reported.

Meanwhile, a massive fire broke out at Chemical Godown in Chawk Bazar at around 3:30 AM. 8 Units of Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the spot at 3:35 AM and controlled the fire.
