HSC Scholarship Application Deadline Extended by 7 Days

The government has extended the deadline for scholarship applications for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent students by seven days. Students can now submit their applications until 11:59 PM on May 7.

The extension applies to students admitted to Class XI and Alim first year for the 2025–26 academic year. The Prime Minister’s Education Assistance Trust announced the decision in a notice issued on Thursday, April 30. The previous deadline was April 30.

According to the notice, eligible students from government and private institutions can apply online through the official portal. This includes institutions under the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Directorate of Technical Education, and Directorate of Madrasa Education.

The Trust provides admission assistance to meritorious students from financially insolvent families. Applicants must show at least 60 percent marks in their previous examination. For GPA-based results, a minimum GPA of 3.50 is required. Students must upload proof of their academic results during the application.

Special consideration is given to certain groups. These include orphaned students, students with disabilities, and those whose parents or guardians suffer from serious illnesses. Children of low-income workers, financially insolvent freedom fighters, and government employees in lower pay grades are also eligible. Supporting documents must be submitted to confirm these conditions.

The notice also sets an income limit. The annual income of the student’s parents or guardian must not exceed 300,000 taka. Applicants must upload a certificate from a local authority confirming that they come from an extremely poor family.

Students are required to submit several documents online. These include a birth registration certificate, parents’ national identity cards, a recent photograph, and bank account details. An attestation form signed by the head of the educational institution is also needed.

The Trust has clarified that the entire process is online. No hard copies need to be submitted. For assistance, students can contact the provided phone numbers during office hours.

Authorities have urged all eligible students to complete their applications within the revised deadline.
