Samsung is expected to unveil its next generation of foldable smartphones at its Galaxy Unpacked event in July. Ahead of the launch, a new leak has revealed key details about the rumoured Galaxy Z Flip 8.
According to a post by tipster Lanzuk on the Korean blog platform Naver, Samsung may launch the Galaxy Z Flip 8 with two different processors. The upcoming clamshell-style foldable is said to be available with either the Exynos 2600 chipset or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, depending on the region.
Both processors are expected to be flagship-level chips. The Exynos 2600 is Samsung’s latest in-house mobile processor and currently powers the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ in several markets, including India. Meanwhile, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy is used in the premium Galaxy S26 Ultra.
The tipster claims Samsung is considering a dual-chip strategy due to increasing production costs associated with the Exynos 2600. Qualcomm is reportedly offering more competitive pricing for its flagship chipset, which may have encouraged Samsung to diversify its processor strategy for the Galaxy Z Flip 8.
If the report proves accurate, it would mark a change from the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Last year’s foldable smartphone was launched exclusively with Samsung’s Exynos 2500 processor.
The leak does not specify which regions will receive each chipset version. However, Samsung has often shipped Snapdragon-powered flagship devices in South Korea, the United States, and selected markets, while many other regions receive Exynos variants.
The Exynos 2600 was announced in December 2025 and is manufactured by Samsung Foundry. Samsung describes it as the world’s first mobile processor built on a 2nm process using Gate-All-Around (GAA) technology. The chipset combines the CPU, GPU, and NPU into a single package designed to improve artificial intelligence and gaming performance.

The processor features a 10-core CPU and can reach clock speeds of up to 3.8GHz. Samsung also claims the Exynos 2600 delivers a 113 percent improvement in generative AI performance compared to the Exynos 2500. Ray-tracing performance is said to improve by as much as 50 percent.
Samsung has not officially confirmed the Galaxy Z Flip 8 specifications. More details are expected to emerge as the company’s anticipated July launch event approaches.
