Vivo’s next flagship smartphone series has appeared in the GSM Association’s IMEI database, pointing to an early look at the upcoming X500 family. The listings suggest the company is preparing at least three models: the vivo X500, vivo X500 Pro, and vivo X500e.
The development comes months after Vivo launched the X300 and X300 Pro in October last year. Their successors are expected to arrive around the same period this year, although some reports suggest the launch could happen slightly earlier.
The new lineup skips the X400 branding entirely. Chinese smartphone brands sometimes avoid the number four due to tetraphobia, a cultural belief that considers the number unlucky.
While the X500 and X500 Pro are expected to replace the X300 and X300 Pro, the X500e is a new addition. Vivo did not launch an X300e model, so details about the device remain unclear at this stage.
Earlier rumours claimed the standard X500 may feature a 6.4-inch display, while the X500 Pro could come with a larger 6.9-inch screen. Reports also suggest Vivo is testing a 50-megapixel LOFIC main camera and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera for the series.
Battery capacity may also see a major upgrade. Both phones are expected to include batteries larger than 7,000mAh, which could improve battery life for gaming, photography, and video streaming.
Vivo has not officially confirmed the X500 series or shared launch details yet. More information is expected to emerge closer to the company’s next flagship smartphone event.
