Realme 16T Launched in India With 8,000mAh Battery and 144Hz Display

Realme has launched the Realme 16T in India, expanding its 16 Series lineup to four smartphones. The new device brings a large 8,000mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 processor.

The smartphone will go on sale in India from May 27 through Realme’s official website, Flipkart, and offline retail stores.

One of the biggest highlights of the Realme 16T is its battery. Realme claims the 8,000mAh unit can deliver up to three days of use on a single charge. The company also says the battery is designed to maintain long-term health for up to seven years.

The phone supports 45W wired charging and 15W reverse wired charging. Users can also use the device as a power bank for charging other products. Realme has also included bypass charging support, which helps reduce heat during gaming or extended use while charging.

The Realme 16T features a 6.8-inch HD+ LCD display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 1,200 nits. The screen has a centred punch-hole cutout for the 16MP front camera.

Powering the smartphone is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with up to 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage. The device also supports microSD card expansion up to 2TB.

On the rear, the Realme 16T includes a 50MP main camera using Sony’s IMX852 sensor. It is accompanied by a 2MP monochrome camera. Realme has added several AI-based camera features, including AI Portrait Glow, which adjusts lighting effects around the subject.

The AI Portrait Glow feature offers four lighting modes: Flash, Studio Light, Natural Light, and Rim Light. The company has also included LumaColor IMAGE technology, which it says improves skin tone accuracy in photos.

The camera module also includes Aura Flash support and a selfie mirror. Realme’s “Gleaming Wings Design” is available only on the Aurora Green version of the phone.

The Realme 16T runs Realme UI 7.0 out of the box. However, the company has not confirmed how many Android updates or security patches the phone will receive.

Other features include a 5,300mm² vapour chamber cooling system, MIL-STD-810H certification, and IP66, IP68, IP69, IP69K, and IP69 Pro ratings for dust and water resistance.

The phone comes in Aurora Green, Starlight Black, and India-exclusive Starlight Red colour options.

The Realme 16T price in India starts at INR29,999 for the 6GB + 128GB model. The 8GB + 128GB version is priced at INR31,999, while the 8GB + 256GB variant costs INR34,999.

The device will be available for purchase in India starting May 27.
